As part of our 50th Anniversary commemoration, the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society is pleased to partner with the Mount Horeb Area Arts Association for a special exhibit that elegantly blends history and art!
"Roots Reimagined" features original works of art created by ten MHAAA roster artists that were inspired by objects found in the MHAHS collection. Photographs of the historic artifacts that provided inspiration are exhibited alongside the artwork, as well as a narrative explaining the creative process behind each piece.
Participating artists include: Philip Ankney, Katherine Ford, Pamela Grabber, Patty and Ivy Klarer, Jane Nass, Christy Nesja, Julie Raasch, Cindy Reed, Judy Robb, and Lucy Shirek.
Accompanying this display are a variety of watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings that represent a much larger collection of locally-connected works of preserved by MHAHS over the past five decades.
Check out this FREE exhibit during the Driftless Historium’s regular hours (Friday to Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m) through July 14, 2025. For more information, email mthorebahs@gmail.com or call 608-437-6486.
