Jorgen Moe experienced a lot of firsts for the village. He saw the first electric lights turn on in the village and talked on the first telephone. He witnessed the community’s first automobile start up and the first airplane fly over the village. Moe volunteered for a number of organizations. He was Secretary of the Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce for more than 30 years and devoted himself to promoting anything that would benefit the village.
