Author Chat With MoHo Native Melissa Faliveno
We are so excited to welcome MoHo native Melissa Faliveno to our chapter meeting. She'll talk about her experiences growing up in Mt. Horeb, which is deeply entwined with her most recent book, Tomboyland. If you'd like to read her book prior to the meeting, signed copies are available for pick up or delivery at Room of One's Own Bookstore. Melissa will speak and answer questions from 6-7 PM. After a short break, the remaining time will be used for sharing and support.

Melissa Faliveno is the author of the essay collection TOMBOYLAND (August 2020) which NPR calls "a love letter to, reckoning with, and examination of Faliveno’s midwestern upbringing" and Publishers Weekly calls "a winning debut." The former senior editor of Poets & Writers Magazine, her work has appeared in Esquire, Paris Review, Bitch, Ms., Oprah Magazine, Isthmus, Literary Hub, Prairie Schooner, DIAGRAM, and Midwestern Gothic, among others, and received a notable selection in Best American Essays 2016. She has taught nonfiction writing at Sarah Lawrence College and Catapult in New York City, and is the 2020-2021 Kenan Visiting Writer at UNC Chapel Hill.
