Throughout the weekend, seven artists representing a range of Wisconsin tribal communities will be stationed throughout the museum. This talented roster includes Kimberly Crowley (Ho-Chunk), Harmony Hill (Oneida/Ho-Chunk), Karen Ann Hoffman (Oneida), Christopher Sweet (Ho-Chunk/White Earth Ojibway), Brian Szabo (Sicangu Lakota), Josiah Thunder (Ho-Chunk) and Leah Winnishiek (Ho-Chunk). A range of traditional, modern and unique artistry and crafts will be offered for sale, from quill and beadwork to paintings and jewelry.
Guests are invited to enjoy and participate in a traditional Ho-Chunk song and dance performance by Elliot Funmaker and Company on Front Street next to the Driftless Historium, to take place Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m.
In addition, a free friendship bracelet activity table will offer the young (and young at heart!) a hands-on opportunity to take home a momento of this special day of culture and friendship.
