Alec Thicke, MHAHS Intern and University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Library & Information Sciences, provides an overview of the recently acquired Little Norway archival collection (a forward-thinking gift of the Scott Winner family). As part of a University-required site placement, Thicke has spent much of this summer sorting, inventorying and preparing a research guide for this wide-ranging and historically significant collection of photos, family papers, business and artifact records and more. Hear about and see "star pieces" of the collection -and a few Alec Favorites!, and learn about the possible ways the collection might be used now and in the future to inform our understanding of Dane County and Wisconsin history, recreation and tourism industry history, ethnic studies and folk and fine art studies. Free and open to all.
