The Driftless Historium is an expert at collecting –it’s why we are here! We collect and protect the history of the Mount Horeb area. (Right now, we estimate our collection includes over 25,000 artifacts.) We know lots of other people collect cool things, too! The Driftless Historium is excited to again host “Collectors & Collections," a Show-and-Tell Open House on Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 2pm. At this free show-and-tell event, visitors will peruse the treasures of local collectors, who will be on hand to answer questions about how, when and why they built their collections. Participanting collectors will be eligible for “Most Knowledgeable Collector” and “Most Unique Collection” awards, both of which will be accompanied by gift certificates to Mount Horeb’s new ice cream and coffee shop, Icki Sticki. Then, at 2pm, local philatelist (also known as a “stamp collector”) John Pare, a Gold Award winner, will talk about his own stamp collection and collecting, including his favorite peices.
