The Driftless Historium hosts, "The Beauty of Nature," an art exhibition by Madison-based artist Joyce Sutton. Joyce Sutton began painting in both acrylics and watercolors after retirement. To hone her skills, she has taken lessons and attend workshops in Door County, the Monroe Art Center and Panama City, Florida. Sutton paints from photographs she has taken or was a magazine photo that inspires her. Favorite themes are nature and architecture. ARTIST STATEMENT: "I have enjoyed painting with bright colors in floral paintings. In the use of textures and values, a landscape or seascape can be an appreciation of all the variations of these elements." This free art show will run from Wednesday, August 14 through Saturday, September 07, 10am to 4pm daily, in the Kalscheur Family Foundation Community Education Room & Gallery. Meet the artist at a reception on Saturday, September 07 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
