The Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St) will debut "Immigrant Journeys from South of the Border ¡Mi travesía hasta Wisconsin" on Tuesday, October 8. This special exhibit, a partner endeavor produced by the Wisconsin Humanities Council in concert with Centro Hispano of Dane County and currently on a statewide tour, can be viewed for free in the Special Exhibits Gallery between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily through Wednesday, October 23. The exhibit features the stories and portraits of eight Wisconsin-based immigrants from south of the United States border, including emigrants from Mexico, Uruguay, Honduras and Colombia. Historium Director Destinee Udelhoven noted the Historium’s excitement about this opportunity, stating: “What a gift to bring this exhibit to Mount Horeb! Like the rest of Wisconsin and the U.S., the fabric of our Village is an increasingly rich tapestry of cultures and people. Immigrant Journeys reminds us how meaningful and worthwhile it is to learn more about the individuals that make up our community.” For more information about Immigrant Journey’s residency at the Historium, call 608-437-6486 or email mthorebhistory@gmail.com.
