Kattia Jimenez Awarded '''Entrepreneur of the Year'' by Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce
Local business owner Kattia Jimenez has been selected by the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce as “Emprendedora del Año,” which translates in English to “Entrepreneur of the Year.” The award recognizes “outstanding dedication to making a difference in our community.”
Jimenez is the owner of Mount Horeb Hemp, LLC, a USDA certified organic hemp farm in south central Wisconsin. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, she grew up in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington. She is a researcher at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and lives on her farm with her husband and their rescued pets.
At Mount Horeb Hemp, Jimenez manages every step of her hemp farming operation, from seed selection to planting, pruning, harvesting, drying and working with processors to create the highest quality Full Spectrum CBD products. In 2021, she joined the Vital Voices GROW Fellowship, which is a leading global accelerator program for women owners of small and medium-sized businesses that are making a social impact.
Jimenez also serves on the board of directors of the Mount Horeb Area Chamber of Commerce and has been a great partner in the Mount Horeb community.
Jimenez accepted the award at the Latino Business Excellence Award Show on Saturday, August 13, at the Monona Terrace Convention Center.
