JG Development Recognized with Residential & Commercial Construction Industry Awards
Blue Mounds and Madison, WI: Local contractor JG Development was doubly recognized earlier this month for its commercial and residential design and construction work. Vive Home Transformations, its residential remodeling division, was awarded a Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) of Madison for its whole home renovation in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. NCI-Roberts Construction, its division that builds for churches and nonprofits, earned gold in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin Projects of Distinction program for its Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School addition in Madison.

The Vive Home Transformations project included great room and dining room additions, a complete kitchen remodel with vaulted ceiling, a formal living room with coffered ceiling, exterior transformation, and an updated mudroom, laundry room and powder bath. Custom selections included a unique trim profile, cabinetry, and Douglas fir timber beams, and updates included new insulation, windows, doors and hardware, lighting, flooring and paint. The 1950s ranch is now a timeless, traditional style home with effortless function for everyday living and entertaining.
According to NARI, winning a CotY Award is a distinguished honor and is the highest form of recognition by industry leaders and peers. The judging panel representing industry experts, selected winners based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, and degree of difficulty. Trophies were awarded at the 2022 Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening in Middleton, Wisconsin, on November 3.
The NCI-Roberts Construction project was the third the contractor has completed for Our Redeemer. It included a new 12,616 square foot, two-level classroom and gymnasium addition and an interior remodel of the existing 4,967 square foot childcare center. The worksite had to be exceptionally safe, as the church, childcare center, school, and summer school were open throughout construction. The new classrooms and gymnasium were complete to the extent necessary for school to start in the fall. This project allowed Our Redeemer to offer excellence in Christian education and care to more families and set it up for yet another phase of expansion.
According to ABC of Wisconsin, the Projects of Distinction Awards highlight the quality and professionalism of construction projects by ABC of Wisconsin members. Entries are judged by a panel of construction experts based on several criteria, including quality, owner satisfaction, unusual challenges, and safety. The awards will be presented at a banquet on January 10, 2023.
