Mount Horeb, WI Good News Lutheran Church celebrated the completion of its church building project with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, February 21 in partnership with general contractor NCI-Roberts Construction and the Mount Horeb Area Chamber of Commerce.

NCI-Roberts Construction built a 9,500 square foot church with worship space for 200 plus, a music and choir area, a central gathering area, a serving kitchen, a library, offices and classrooms. The site on the west edge of the growing village includes ample parking, as well as room for future expansion.

Pastor Jonathan Bauer thanked the many individuals and organizations that have supported the church’s growth since its founding in 2013 and called attention to three features in the sanctuary that depict events that happened on the biblical Mount Horeb. “They really connect our sanctuary to the community that we are a part of,” he said.

Rachel LaCasse-Ford, executive director of the Mount Horeb Area Chamber of Commerce, noted the partnership with community organizations like Good News Lutheran Church “is essential to making our community flourish” and said she appreciated how “NCI-Roberts and JG have helped the community to grow.”

Jeff Grundahl, owner of NCI-Roberts Construction and parent company, JG Development, said, “We’ve been super appreciative of the opportunity to work with the team to build this beautiful church. I think we will see this area come to life as the church does.”

Architecture and engineering partners were Groth Design Group and Mount Horeb-based Wyser Engineering; The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) Church Extension Fund was integral to project financing. The Pepper Drive property is the church’s first permanent location.
