    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Housekeeping & Hospitality Director provides oversight for housekeeping and hosting at Bethel Horizons. This position will coordinate all housekeeping and hosting at Bethel Horizons. This position will also be responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory of cleaning supplies and other supplies needed for hosting groups. This position will supervise various hourly employees to support the housekeeping and hosting efforts.

     

    AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

    The Housekeeping & Hospitality Director is accountable to the Executive Director for the quality and delivery of work produced. The Housekeeping & Hospitality Director will work with individual Program Directors and other camp staff as needed for various tasks. The Housekeeping & Hospitality Director will supervise various hourly and volunteer positions to support the work of providing housekeeping and hosting for all groups at Bethel Horizons.

     

    HOURS

    PART-TIME/FULL-TIME:   Full-Time        LOCATION: Bethel Horizons – Dodgeville, WI

    HOURS PER WEEK: 40+

    COMPENSATION: Commensurate with education and experience

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Housekeeping

    • Ability to clean and reset retreat centers within 4-12 hours (depending on facility) as needed and with additional support

      • This position will be primary housekeeper during September - May

      • This position will hire additional cleaning support as needed throughout the year 

      • During the summer, additional help will be hired during summer camp

    • Maintain inventory of supplies for cleaning

    • Conduct deep cleaning of facilities as needed or at least annually

     

    Hosting

    • Maintain calendar of hosting for all groups that come to Horizons

    • Work with the Executive Chef, Office Manager and others on all group logistic coordination (meals, lodging, special requests, etc.)

    • Serve as the primary host and contact for groups coming to Horizons or schedule hosts as needed

      • Make sure space is ready for the group by doing walkthroughs, turning on lights, setting thermostats etc. 

      • Welcome group to Horizons and show them around their space

      • While the group is at camp, be sure to check public spaces as needed

      • When the group departs, make sure that all of their belongings go with them and walk through space and turn off lights, reset thermostats, etc.

    • Maintain inventory of supplies needed for groups such as dry erase markers, etc. and make sure all permanent equipment is in good working order

     

    Supervision

    • Hire (with assistance), train and supervise hourly employees for support of Housekeeping and Hosting

    • Create training standards for housekeeping and hosting

     

    General

    • Support food service as requested (likely once a month)

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Willingness to work in an environment committed to fostering a better understanding of God, Self, Others and Nature.

    • Has minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience

    • Ability to take initiative is required

    • Strong organizational skills required

    • Excellent communication required

    • Willingness to obtain Food Service Manager Certification preferred

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT and Job Specifications 

    • Primarily perform work in an office, camp and retreat center environment 

    • Frequently move around the camp, retreat center, and office, and access or use computers, office equipment, telephone, and any other pertinent supplies, space or equipment used to perform the duties of the position.  

    • Work with frequent interruption.   

    • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
