    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Manager provides oversight for food service at Bethel Horizons. This position will coordinate all cooking at Bethel Horizons. This position will also be responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory of food and other supplies needed for food service operations. This position will supervise various hourly employees to support the food service and efforts.

    AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

    The Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Manager is accountable to the Executive Director for the quality and delivery of work produced. The Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Manager will work with individual Program Directors and other camp staff as needed for various tasks. The Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Manager will supervise various hourly and volunteer positions to support the work of providing food service for all groups at Bethel Horizons.

    HOURS

    PART-TIME/FULL-TIME: Full-Time LOCATION: Bethel Horizons – Dodgeville, WI

    HOURS PER WEEK: 40+

    COMPENSATION: Commensurate with education and experience

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Cooking

    • Create and implement menus for programs and retreats at Bethel Horizons - Menus will need to accommodate dietary needs and audience (for example, summer camp with children vs. high end adult groups)
    • Cook meals for all groups at Bethel Horizons
    • From April - September, additional cooks will be hired to assist with cooking as needed
    • From October - March, this position will be the primary cook with additional cooks hired as needed

    Food Service Management

    • Maintain inventory of food and supplies through various vendors

    Supervision

    • Hire (with assistance), train and supervise hourly employees for support of Food Service
    • Create training standards for Food Service positions

    General

    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Willingness to work in an environment committed to fostering a better understanding of God, Self, Others and Nature.
    • Graduate of an accredited Culinary school of ACF certified equivalent
    • ServSafe Certified
    • Ability to take initiative is required
    • Strong organizational skills required

    Yes. We require all staff and guests to wear masks indoors except when eating or in their sleeping quarters. We also ask all guests to complete a COVID screening as they arrive to camp.

    Education:

    • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

    Experience:

    • Supervising Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Cooking: 3 years (Preferred)

    License/Certification:

    • Serv Safe Manager Certification (Preferred)
