    What Your Day Will Look Like:

    As a Technology Systems Specialist the majority of your day you will be responsible for effectively providing installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will also participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and may be involved with supporting the network infrastructure. Working closely with District Technology Coordinator and IT team members you will assist to strategically plan future projects and continue proactive preventative maintenance.  Cross training with the Network Administrator and Computer Technician(s) to enable cross-coverage of all of our critical infrastructure and services.  Completing technical support assist tickets as assigned or claimed.


    The position is a full-time, year round position working mostly Monday - Friday with some in-district travel and some evening/weekend hours.


    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Two (2) year or four (4) year technical degree in a program such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.

    • Experience working with server and networking infrastructure and WAN networks required.

    • Exemplary knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 Professional, Windows Server, Linux and other server and desktop operating systems.

    • Strong desire to improve network security and keeping up-to-date on the latest security threats

    • Exemplary knowledge of network equipment (switches, routers, associate IP networking equipment).  

    • Exemplary experience creating, maintaining, and deploying Windows images to desktops, labs, laptops

    • Working knowledge of enterprise server systems, including Active Directory.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Firewall, spam filtering and content filtering systems (Lightspeed preferred).

    • Working knowledge of hardware and components including Chromebooks, processors, accessories, cards, peripherals.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture, including Multi VLAN architecture.

    • Knowledge of VMWare

    • Working knowledge of PC/LAN/cloud hosted application software.

    • Exemplary experience utilizing the following skills: problem solving, multi-tasking, empathy, providing customer service, organized, quality outcome, and attention to detail.

    • Exemplary knowledge of educational and business software applications in order to support the school district staff and students (GSuite for Education, Chromebook Admin Dashboard and management, Office Suite, TV and Interactive Boards connecting with desktops/laptops, Internet Browsers, Mobile Device Management, Email Software, Smart Technology software, Anti-Virus and malware software, and other software as needed to support curriculum.

    • Collaborative and solution oriented mindset.

    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, especially during times of change.

    • Enjoy working with  students and other staff members.

    • Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.


    Physical Demands:

    This job can be demanding physically, requiring the ability to bend, lift (up to 75 lbs.), crouch, kneel and walk in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
