Almost all of us have a family tree with roots that stretch beyond the borders of America. On Thursday, September 19 at 6:00pm at the Driftless Historium, the Wisconsin Historical Society's Lori Bessler will give you the tools you need to begin your family history journey. Lori will discuss resources available to genealogists, novice and experienced. Learn how to find the documents that explain the travels of your immigrant ancestors. From online data pools like FamilySearch.org and Ancestry.com, to making the most of field trips to courthouses, archives and museum collections. Bessler is the genealogy and local history specialist in the Wisconsin Historical Society's Library, Archives and Museum Collections division. She travels extensively to present a wide variety of talks and workshops for the general public, including "Genealogy: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced," "Using Ancestry.com," "Using FamilySearch.org," "Online Research," "Where to Find Collections Anywhere and Everywhere," and, as is the case here, "Immigration Research." This program is free. Reservations are not required. For more information, call 608-437-6486 or email mthorebhistory@mhtc.net.
