Documentary screening with facilitated discussion The fate of undocumented immigrant workers and Wisconsin's $43 billion dairy industry are closely intertwined. On Wisconsin dairy farms today, immigrants make up a majority of the workforce. Many farmers say that deporting workers would harm the industry. John Rosenow is a Wisconsin Dairy Farmer who has been outspoken in his belief that immigrants are critical to the success of Wisconsin’s dairy industry. "Los Lecheros (The Dairy Farmers)", a nineteen-minute documentary, features Rosenow’s farm and workers. The documentary, produced by The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism and Twelve Letter Films, explores the tensions over immigration that have risen since 2016 and chronicles their impact on the livelihood and lives of undocumented dairy workers and dairy farmers in Wisconsin. The screening of the full documentary will be immediately followed by an open conversation led by an qualified facilitator, provided by the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
