Historic Preservation is intrinsically important for its ability to create a sense of rootedness and belonging while also stimulating the economy by reinvesting in our built environment.
There are tax credits available for owners of certified historic homes as well as income-producing buildings. Currently the State of Wisconsin offers 20% for income-producing building rehabilitations and 25% for
homeowners. At the federal level there is the 20% for income-producing building rehabilitations.
These income tax credit programs are an incentive to properly maintain a building’s historic identity and character-defining features.
Come hear Jen Davel, Preservation Architect at the State Historic Preservation Office, explain the application process and answer any questions you may have.
