Learn the art of making lovely bar soap from olive, vegetable and coconut oils. The cold process mixes warm oils with sodium hydroxide (lye) and a chemical process called saponification results, turning the mixture into soap. Everyone will go through the entire process from heating the oils, to adding lye and saponifying the mixture. Essential oils and fragrances will be offered. You will have your own soap mold to make about 5 bars of soap. The bars will need to be left at Adamah to harden and you can arrange a time to return to pick up your soap. You will leave with the soap recipe and a materials list to make soap at home. BONUS: As we wait for the lye mixture to cool, you will learn to make your own lip balm from beeswax and coconut oil.
