The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society and Driftless Historium invite the young and young at heart to a showing of Don Bluth's iconic 1986 movie, "An American Tail." Enjoy pizza, popcorn and lemonade as you watch feisty Fievel Mousekewitz star in a classic immigration story, with themes of family loyalty, hardship and perseverance, empathy and friendship amidst discrimination and greed, and the lure of the "American Dream." And keep the conversation going--with a take-home packet featuring activities and discussion prompts. This event is family friendly, free and open to all. To help us plan food and set-up, registration is requested though not required. Registration opens Thursday, August 15. To make your reservation, call 608-437-6486 or email mthorebhistory@mhtc.net. All who pre-register will be eligible to win one of two "Family Fun Double Feature, American Tail 1 & 2" DVD copies. This free drawing will be held at the close of the event; you must be present to win "American Tail Family Movie Party" is part of the Driftless Historium’s 2019 theme, “Immigrants of Wisconsin: Yesterday and Today.” This year-long mix of speakers and exhibitions about both early Wisconsin’s foreign-born settlers and current immigration issues and experiences hopes to help audiences make connections and recognize patterns and change over time.
