Chamber Chat--November 2019

As we approach the holidays and start wrapping up another year it is always nice to look back and celebrate success and find learning opportunities. I think it is important to continually grow and change with the times…personally, professionally and as a business or organization. I am proud to say that here at the Chamber we are doing just that in a diverse and collaborative way. I am looking forward to sharing our “year in review” with you next month so that you are able to see just how far we have come.

As we begin strategic planning for 2020, I want to thank everyone who completed the membership survey. This information is very helpful to us, particularly the written comments and suggestions. Your input shapes our overall focus of work as we head into our planning sessions. Our goal is to use your input to focus our efforts in areas where we can have the most impact. We want to help create a widely accepted and widely embraced community vision.  We want to focus on how to engage the business community and Not-for-Profit sector collaboratively.  And we want to accomplish as much as possible for the greater good and success of our community.

As Chamber members, we understand that you want more from us than a Business After Hours event once a month. Yes, networking is important and can yield immediate tangible results, but we can do so much more than that.  For our members to be successful, and for the Chamber to be successful, we need to look at the big picture and help convene, catalyze and spur the dialogues that create a positive business climate for the future. That is what we continue to strive to do for you and for the employees and families that you employ.

We want to thank Restaino & Associates for hosting Business After Hours last month. We are also proud to welcome Great Scott’s Pizza and Acme Nerd Games to the Chamber family this month! A big thank you to everyone who came to our Membership Appreciation Open House in October as well. We had a great time celebrating with our members as well as giving information about what the chamber has to offer. A great time was had by all.
