    Chamber Chat – June 2019

My name is Tiffany King. I am the executive director of the Mount Horeb Area Chamber of Commerce. I will be sharing a monthly column with you to let you know about what the chamber is doing for Mount Horeb area businesses and the community.
We are very busy at the chamber during the summer months. As the organization responsible for drawing tourists to the community, we put on several events designed to increase foot traffic to our retailers, eateries, attractions, and places of lodging. Our Art Fair is coming up July 20-21st on Main Street. We are always looking for volunteers for these events. If you are interested, please contact us at the chamber office at 437-5914. We also have the Thirsty Troll Brewfest on September 14th at Grundahl Park and tickets are on sale for it now. The Fall Village Market also will take place on October 5 -6th on Main Street. There are plenty of things to do throughout the summer in our community.
We just welcomed a new office administrator, Kathy Arnold, to the chamber staff. Kathy will be handling all of our phone calls, emails, and visitors to the office. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to working with her.
The chamber is launching our Young Professional’s Network on July 31 with a kick-off party at the Walk-On Bar & Grill. This group is aimed at professionals in the community ages 21-45 in order to get them integrated and involved in the Mount Horeb community. We are looking forward to working with this dynamic group of people and to seeing the impact we know they’ll have on our community.
We are actively looking at issues that affect our business owners and community every day. The chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee recently conducted a member survey to find out our members’ view of the top issues facing our community. We will be releasing the results of that survey soon. Thank you to those that have responded.
We have 21 new members—and counting—for 2019. We are honored to welcome so many new businesses and organizations into the chamber family. We are working hard to continue to provide value-added services and benefits designed to allow our members to market themselves and take advantage of chamber networking and educational opportunities.
The chamber has a lot more on the horizon for 2019, so stay tuned! If you would like to meet with me, volunteer, or become a chamber member, I would love to hear from you! Please feel free to contact me at the office at 437-5914 at any time. My door is always open.
